Sit in ATV Courses - Argo CatThe Sit in ATV has easily seen the biggest change in the ATV family these machines come in all shapes and sizes the most common being the conventionally steered mini pick up version. An example of these could be the Kawasaki mule or the Yamaha rhino which are replacing the humble quad bike on some farms. Seen more often in council parks partly to do with their reasonable easy operation and their ability to carry two or three passengers and up to 750kgs of equipment in the rear load bed. The next type of machine is the more specialised multi wheeled sit in ATV such as the very capable 6x6 Polaris Ranger or the 6 or 8 wheeled Skid steered Argocat conquest or avenger which are being used more and more regular by utility companies to access hillside to work on power lines or carry out site surveys for proposed work. The Tracked ATV and most specialized ATV only usually gets brought out when the going gets really tough. Whether it be crossing wet moor land or snow or just a requirement to move lots of equipment or personnel and to ensure minimum damage to the ground and surrounding environment. ATV’s like this would be the scottrac 2000 and 3000 r or the hagglund bv206 . With all theses Sit in ATVs comes a requirement to provide training at merrick training we are one of the few providers that offer a nationally recognised training and certification on all these machines through Lantra awards and national training organisation.
